Victorian Fitted Lady's Jewellery Box

Description

A good mid-Victorian coromandel-wood fitted JEWELLERY BOX in excellent original condition.

The box itself is veneered in well-figured coromandel and banded with Gothic style gilt brass mounts, central decoration and escutcheon whilst set with "Tiger's Eye" agate cabochons. The lid opens to reveal the removable fitted upper tray, with various compartments, and a further silk-velvet lined compartment below.

*Retailed by Mechi ~ a well-known manufacturer of fine boxes and objects with a specialist shop in Regent Street, London.
