Very Fine Late 18th Century Sheraton Tea Caddy

Description

A very fine quality and beautifully inlaid late 18th century Sheraton period TEA CADDY of particularly good colour and patina.

Of overall cube shape, with canted corners, this exquisite caddy is veneered in finely-figured satinwood with oval panels of burr yew-wood to the front, sides and back and with inlaid "faux" columns to each of the canted corners. The lid is inlaid with an oval "batswing" panel centred by the original ivory knob handle and opens to reveal the fine clean interior. A gorgeous tea caddy of exceptional quality.
