This attractive and practical 19th century colonial brass bound camphor chest would, due to its compactness, originality and colour, complement many different room settings within your home.
It has been lovingly restored - the camphor wood has been, sensitively, brought back to life but much care has been taken to leave the chests character and charm in place.
All its original brass corners, straps, its escutcheon, and handles have retained their original surface, reflecting the chests history and use. The interior is in excellent condition - the candle box has been restored.
The lock has been overhauled and a key of a similar age located and re-cut to fit.
As you are probably aware the smell of Camphor wood is pleasing to us, but not to moths, so this chest offers a ''safer'' haven for your Merino sweaters!
