Loveday Antiques has dated this piece to the 1870s.
The shape and style is extremely similar to that of the famous upholsterers Howard and sons, with its deep leather buttoned shaped back having lumbar support and a slight rake/decline making it one of the most comfortable chairs I have sat in. The deep buttoned leather seat protrudes slightly forward again for comfort with shaped and scrolled arms.

A fabulous Victorian armchair is raised on front turned legs with rear splay legs all terminating on brass casters with porcelain wheels.
This armchair was obviously made by well known maker as the back right hand leg has a four digit number stamp which is also known for the firm Howard and sons to have stamped their goods. In excellent condition this is an extremely comfortable well drawn armchair of with a great coloured old leather that would work in most settings.
