Lovely Victorian Solid Silver & Glass Dish

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Silver Cabinet

This is a very pretty and highly decorative solid sterling silver heart-shaped dish, with glass liner.

The silver work is detailed and crisp. The heart-shaped handle is firmly attached and the glass liner is beautifully ornate.

Clearly hallmarked on the side for Birmingham 1899, with the maker''s mark for Walker & Hall.

I have seen a similar dish described as a caviar server. This could also be used for jam, butter, savoury sauces as well as a dressing table accessory.

Silver weight: 43g.

Length: 13cm

Width: 11cm

The silver is in excellent condition. There is a small chip on the rim of the glass liner - shown in photograph 6 - and two light scratches (both less than 1cm in length) together on the base of the glass. The dish isn''t gilded - this is simply a reflection of the camera flash

Post and packaging are free within the UK via Royal Mail special delivery. Overseas buyers please e-mail for postage costs. Thank you.
