Description

This LARGE ENGLISH STONEWARE LION ON PLINTH, with well-detailed mane and swishing tail, dates from circa 1860.

He is very heavy but is well balanced and stands firmly.

As can be seen from the photographs, there are chips, one of which has been reglued. There is no restoration.
