An Exceptional Quality Gillows Writing Table

An exceptional quality antique Regency two drawer rosewood writing library table attributed to Gillows. Of superb quality and form this stunning writing table has all the hallmarks of the most famous cabinetmaking firm of the 18th / 19th Century Gillows of Lancaster.

Very unusual having a canted cornered top banded in rosewood with a black and gilt tooled leather inert. The moulded edged top over a rosewood veneered frieze containing two mahogany lined drawers supported by the typically famous carved ends supports renowned from the Gillows firm.

The top being constructed of Cuban mahogany being veneered in rosewood with each end support being off one solid piece if rosewood raised on castors.

In excellent condition having a replacement leather this Regency table has been gentle restored using traditional methods retaining a wonderful natural colour.

The quality of this table is hard to surpass and was found in amazing condition given its age and one of finest of its type.
