The good eight-day weight-driven timepiece movement features deadbeat escapement and Harrison's maintaining power, whilst the original painted dial is signed: Clerk, 1 Royal Exchange, LONDON. About 36ins (91cms) high overall.
There are a number of London clockmakers named Clerk most of whom were related. Their major workshop premises was at No. 1 Royal Exchange, where George Clerk started circa 1805.
