Description

Sn3363 Fine quality, George III grandfather clock in oak, having painted dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, floral spandrels and moon phase, subsidiary dial to centre and 8-day movement striking on the bell, signed by James Joyce, Whitchurch all in elegant hood with swan neck pediment with brass finials and flower gilt carvings, flanked by reeded columns with brass capitals, the trunk having mahogany crossbanded doors flanked by reeded quarter columns terminating in crossbanded base with canted corners, all standing on ogee feet.
The movement has been cleaned and serviced by a horologist and it is guaranteed for 12 months (UK mainland). c1780
