Description

This is a pair of Japanese Moriage vases.

Colourful in raised enamel, glazed slipware or 'moriage', this profusely decorated pair of urns depict charming oriental scenes framed with foliage and floral detail interspersed with stylised bead work.

Raised on trumpeted stands the urns feature elaborate pierced handles to either side of the neck beneath the flared, crimped open tops.

In good antique condition the underside bears no cracks or repairs and carry differing marks across the two pots.
