A Beautiful Oak Late Victorian Period Pedestal Desk by Maple

Description

A beautiful oak Late Victorian Period antique pedestal desk by Maple & Co. Having a solid oak rectangular top with an inset green leather gilt and blind tooled writing surface above an arrangement of nine rectangular mahogany lined drawers with solid oak drawer fronts. The drawer fronts constructed using quarter sawn oak, the finest cut of oak. Each drawer retaining the original cast brass handle with bulls eye centres and the original Hobbs & Co of London locks. Having solid oak sides, back, plinth and concealed castors. Stamped by the maker Maple & Co to the central drawer. This desk splits into three sections for transportation. English circa 1890-1900

Dimensions: 48" wide x 27" deep x 30" high (knee hole 24" high x 19" wide)

Condition: This desk is in superb condition, a wonderful colour and patination. A replacement high quality leather inset.
