An Oak George III Period North Country Chest of Drawers

Description

An Oak George III Period North Country Antique Chest of drawers. The solid oak rectangular top with chequer band inlay and mahogany cross banding above a blind fret and dentil moulded frieze. This blind fret frieze enclosing a "secret" drawer. With an arrangement of two short and three long rectangular drawers, each having an oak front with chequer band inlay, mahogany cross banding and retaining the original period brass swan neck handles and escutcheons. Having mahogany quarter columns and solid oak sides, the whole supported on the original oak bracket feet with pierced detail. English circa 1790-1800

Dimensions: 39" wide x 21" deep x 47" high

Condition: This chest is in excellent original condition, cleaned and waxed. A superb colour and patination.
