Description

A stunning quality Regency Goncalo Alves card table by Gillows of Lancaster. Of the more desirable d- shaped form with elegant rounded corners and frieze. The top of this games sofa hall lamp side table opening to reveal a circular re-baized playing surface; banded with the same high quality and rare goncalo alves timber. This timber is similar in figuring to rosewood but more dense and stable. The whole raised on twin gadrooned legs terminating in opposing cabriole shaped legs with the characteristic raised oval set within the acanthus leaf carved feet; with original brass circular rotating castors. Excellent condition. Circa 1825. Measure 36"w x 18"d x29"h
