Victorian Brass Lamp Base

19th century
Description

Circa 1900, this late Victorian brass lamp was most likely the base of a Victorian oil lamp.

It has a beautiful decorative round base with an unusual striated central column. There are signs of age at the very base of the column where it meets the curved base, and there is a small old soldering mark on the top - see Photo 1.

Otherwise, it is a lovely solid and decorative lamp of good weight.

It measures 30cm in height up the the lamp holder, and it is approximately 21cm in diameter.
