Description

This FINE VICTORIAN MAHOGANY & SYCAMORE COOPERED, BRASS-BOUND BOX dates from circa 1870.

It has an exquisite 'housekeeper's finish' showing it has been dusted and waxed regularly throughout its life.

The BOX is of tapering form with all its original fittings. The staves use mahogany and sycamore alternately to give a decorative contrast.

The condition of this BOX is very good. The colour, feel, craftsmanship and originality are notable.
