Large Bamboo Hall Stand C.1890.

19th century
Description

Exceptional large late 19th.c. bamboo hall stand c.1890. Nine hooks for hats and coats arranged around a bevelled mirror plate over a stand with dividers for sticks and umbrella in the base. Highly decorative bamboo frame with (quite unusually) the root heads left on and faux Chinese characters around the mirror. Minor tarnish to the mirror otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
