Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The handle features two leopards heads with four 'acorn' finials to the top.

The superb 8-day movement strikes hours & half-hours on a bell, repeating hours at will. It features: calendar work; an alarm train; "Strike/Silent" control and the original lever escapement. The white enamel dial has a hairline crack across the right-hand subsidiary dial and another crack top right but virtually out of sight. Perfect working order.
This clock is not signed, (but numbered 78); it is possible it is a very early example by Henri Jacot as in particular the dial design is reminiscent of Jacot's later clocks.
