Exquisite 19th Century French Bombe Commode

An exquisite Louis XV Style Rosewood, Parquetry and Gilt Ormolu Mounted Bombé Commode dating to the late 19th century. This outstanding commode with exceptional colour has brocatelle violette marble shaped top with moulded edge which is a form of breccia marble only quarried in France sitting over two short and two longer shaped drawers above a shaped apron. Each drawer being of shaped form with intricate parquetry work and retaining their original decorative gilt handles and escutcheons with the two longer drawers having brass central locks.

With very fine gilt ormolu foliate mounts to the sides and parquetry work with the whole being raised on cabriole legs with sabots. In excellent condition having been restored using traditional wax methods this commode has retained it fantastic original colour and patina which has to be seen in the flesh to be fully admired.

An extremely good example in mint condition that will compliment any home or collection.
