Late 18th Century Marquetry Inlaid Tea Caddy

Description

A good quality and attractive late 18th/early 19th century TEA CADDY of cube form, veneered in 'plum-pudding' figured mahogany with multiple lines of chequer and kingwood cross-banding.

The front and lid are both beautifully inlaid with oval panels of baskets of flowers whilst the sides and back are inlaid with chequered "X" shaped quarters. The inner lid (slightly bowed) is also beautifully inlaid whilst unusually there is what appears to be an original mirror within the lid itself. Original working key.
