19th.c. Marble Top Birds Eye Maple Sideboard C.1880

Description

Stunning late 19th.c. marble top birds eye maple sideboard c.1880. Original 1¼" thick grey marble top over three drawers and three doors with mirror panels. Lots of great detail here: note the front corners of the marble carved to match the rounded and stepped corners of the cabinet, the crisp shaped mouldings to the door and drawer fronts, the shaped mirror panels with elegant swag detail etched to the rear of the glass and set within a conforming border highlighted in pale blue paint, again achieved from the rear. Sparkling birds eye maple veneered front and sides of gorgeous honey colour on oak groundwork. Raised on impressively oversized bracket feet to the front. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied.
