Description

Beautiful English Art Nouveau mahogany side cabinet by J.M Greenhalge & Co. of Warrington c.1905. Raised centre with a glazed cabinet over a single drawer, flanked on each side with tall a gallery over small blind door cupboards. Crisply carved frieze across the top and sides of the centre section, and repeated on the door panels, featuring Art Nouveau pomegranate and foliage motifs with the familiar ‘whiplash’ line so typical of the style. The Art Nouveau influence is continued through the unusual organic form glazing detail, the brass handles, the tall gallery staves and slim tapering legs ending in a flared foot. Superior quality, in solid mahogany with bevelled glass. Original handles and maker’s label (to the drawer front). Excellent colour and condition, original throughout. Cleaned and polished in our workshops.
