Description

Ingenious little late 19th.c. metamorphic work box and games table c.1890. Inlaid burr walnut top turns and folds open top reveal beautiful parquetry and inlay playing surfaces for chess, backgammon and cribbage. Over a traditional embroidery work table configuration of deep pull out storage basket and a shallow fitted drawer for threads etc. On an elaborate walnut base with turned column legs and carved feet with original white ceramic castors. Excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied.
