Description

A stunning & rare rosewood Early Victorian Period fold-over card table by Gillows Of Lancaster. Having a rectangular top veneered in beautifully figured rosewood which swivels and opens to reveal a baize lined playing surface. The top supported on exquisitely turned solid rosewood columns with finely carved acanthus detail and lobed collars which are raised on finely carved cabriole supports with claw and ball feet and inset brass castors. Illustrated in the Gillows of Lancaster and London Book By Susan E. Stuart (see images). Stamped Gillows Lancaster. English circa 1850-1860

Dimensions: 36" wide x 18" deep x 28.5" high

Condition: This table is in excellent original condition, waxed.
