Description

A small fine quality Japanese Meiji Period gold lacquered shodana of traditional form. The black lacquered cabinet hi-lighted with gilt and red raised lacquer and with a variety of gold lacquered panels, doors and drawers each with extremely fine onlaid detail depicting crysanthumums, butterflies, birds and fruit onlaid in ivory and mother of pearl. Japan circa 1890

Dimensions: 21.5" wide x 11.5" deep x 25" high

Condition: This shodana is in very good condition, minor rubbing to the gold lacquer on the edges. The panels are in stunning condition with no losses.
