Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the 1850s.
It has a working lock and key to the main cupboard, and a single removeable shelf to the interior. European in origin, with Biedermeier influences, this is a really good quality stylish piece and a good size. It is showing signs of age – there is a split along the top which has been filled with wax (see photo) and some small veneer loss to bottom edges of both doors. Dating from the early to mid 19th century.
