Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
This Mahogany Marquetry Chest is a very rare piece, it has the classic bombe shape of a Louis XV commode but this one has 2 shaped drawers, it stands on sabre shaped legs and has a serpentine shaped front and sides.

The chest inlay is matched veneers in King Wood, Tulip Wood and Box, the marble top is made from Italian Rose Marble
The Chest is very sturdy, it is in good condition both inside and out but there are some very small chips to the veneers

The chest is 47” long, 21” deep and 34” high
