Superb Antique Carved Mother of Pearl Card Case C.1850

Description

A truly exquisite Victorian visiting card case in absolutely superb condition. Made from Mother of Pearl or Nacre shell with it's iridescent qualities, the card case has a superb raised hand carved floral panel to the front.

Both surrounding this panel and the entire back panel is beautifully engraved, creating a highly decorative example and a fine example. The clasp and hinge are in undamaged condition.

Early Victorian in era, the case dates to around 1850. 4" x 3 1/8".
