The superstructure with a shaped gallery and turned finials with an open recess and a bank of 3 over 2 boxwood inlaid drawers below. The top with a large satinwood oval and further satinwood cross banding between boxwood and ebony lines. The front with a single drawer which is inlaid to appear as 2 drawers with conforming banding and inlay. The drawer opens to reveal a writing slide which retains the original blue velvet surface and when pushed back allows access to the stationary and pen compartments. This fine piece of Sheraton revival furniture retains all the quality brass handles, the brass lock with 2 keys and is stamped "EDWARDS & ROBERTS" to the top of the drawer. In overall very good condition - there is slight fading and 1 or 2 bumps and bruises to the plum pudding mahogany top but all associated with age and use.
