Grand Large French Cast Brass Rocking Blotter C.1880

Description

A most impressive desk top rocking blotter, beautifully decorated and very heavy being made from solid cast brass. The fabulous grand handle can be unscrewed to dismantle the blotter to re-fuel with fresh blotting paper when required.

Once dismantled, the makers initials DL and No. 5 can be found on the underside of the brass, also the word "Depose" meaning Registered.

Dating to around 1880, it remains in superb condition and ready to be put to work once fitted with some fresh paper. 5 1/2" x 3" x 3 1/2" tall to top of handle
