Wonderful Antique English Oak and Brass "Newspapers" Rack C.1890

Description

A fabulous Victorian Newspaper rack or holder dating to the late Victorian era, around 1890. The base is made from solid English Oak and stands on four Ebonised turned feet (a chip to one, it doesn't show but shown for accuracy).

The brass panels are beautifully decorated with repousse work beautifully hand chased, there is also some pierced or reticulated decoration.

Excellent condition. The wooden base measures 11 3/4" x 5 1/2" and stands 10" high to top of handle.
