The use of solid coromandel is very unusual as even at this date the wood was exceptionally expensive and used mostly as a veneer. The top with cloud marble and brass beading.The panels and drawer fronts with applied quarter turned beading. The rosewood/padouk interior with 24 pigeon holes and 5 drawers with original lions head gilded brass ring pulls. One drawer fitted with pen tray. The fall rests on the central pull out style which has a pseudo leather writing surface and a working lock and key.The rosewood turned and fluted column joined to a platform base with regency carving and lion's paw feet which retain their original brass casters.
