Antique Silver Waltham P S Bartlett Pocket Watch

An antique silver Waltham P S Bartlett grade pocket watch.

The watch has a P S Bartlett grade movement which has been fully tested and is working well. The grade was named after Patten Sargeant Bartlett who was one of the early employees of the Boston Watch Company which went on to become the Waltham Watch Company. He subsequently left Waltham to work for the National Watch Company at Elgin Illinois but eventually returned to Waltham to work as a salesman before opening his own wholesale business. The movement is fully signed and has the serial number 23035985 which dates it back to 1919. It is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks for Birmingham 1919 with a maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison. The case is in good condition with just the odd minor mark.

The watch glass is in beautiful condition.

The dial has a signed white enamel dial. There are a couple of short faint hairline cracks but they are barely noticeable to the naked eye. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
