Description

Beautiful pair of George III solid silver wine bottle coasters with turned hardwood bases. Lovely simple design with stepped reeding around the base, flared sides and fine reeded bands around the rims. Hallmarked for London 1796, marks are partially obscured but can be made out; maker's mark is rubbed and illegible but lovely good quality pieces.

They measure 5 3/4" across the rims, 5" inside and 1 1/8" high. They weigh 396g in total. Condition is excellent; just light surface wear for age and some surface weathering to the wood. They have baize to the bases.
