This elegant ANTIQUE ARMORIAL DESSERT SERVICE, bearing the COPELAND & GARRETT mark for 1840, consists of SIX PLATES and TWO MATCHING COMPORTS.

The intricately handpainted crest bears the Latin script PRAESTO ET PERSTO - I stand firm and I stand first - .

The SERVICE has a delicate apricot-coloured border and is embellished with gilt.

It is in good condition with no restoration. There is a small surface chip to the underside of the footrim of one plate.
