Description

A truly unusual and highly decorative biscuit box or barrel, really popular at the moment, (they make the most perfect Ice Buckets too).

Made from a hefty piece of crystal and standing on a footed base, the body has beautiful panels with a variety of decoration, Hobnail cut, Channel cut and in between, a beautifully engraved design.

The fittings are all made from English EPNS or Electro-Plated Nickel Silver, the handle with a Gothic design with two Dragons attached; the handle joins the rim with Goats Head figures below. The lid is mounted with the most wonderful Peacock.

Victorian in era, this quality piece remains in excellent condition. The diameter measures approximately 5" (max), stands 5 1/2" to rim of barrel, 7 3/4" to top of Pheasant and 10 1/2" to top of handle while upright. c.1880.
