Antique Burr Walnut Three Door Wardrobe - Maple & Co

1900 - 1920
Description

Very attractive & practicable antique three door wardrobe made by 'Maple & Co', dating from around the 1890-1910 period. It's a combination of burr, figured & solid walnut. The three shaped door panels are a strongly patterned burr walnut, with cross banding on the edges. The sides are figured walnut & it sits on carved ogee feet. There are two separate compartments inside. The right hand side consists of a top shelf, two pull out sliding trays & three drawers below. The other two doors open up to reveal a double compartment with a shelf on top & plenty of room for hanging clothes. It still has the original brass hooks inside. There are some drop down fittings to hold a bar for hangers, but the bar is missing. It's not a problem, because we will have another bar fitted before it goes out. A lot of antique wardrobes are too shallow to take hangers, but this one is extra deep, so there will be no problem there. There is also a full length mirror on the back of one of the doors. This wardrobe is superb quality throughout, which is what you would expect from a 'Maple & Co' piece. It separates into four sections for easier transportation. The top lifts off & there are two middle sections which sit on the base. There are no screws in it now & it sits together nicely. The original brass drop handles also turn to release the door catches.

Length - 74", 189 cm

Depth - 23", 59 cm

Height - 80", 204 cm

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
