Description

Charming Staffordshire creamware mask jug of Princess Charlotte made to commemorate her death in 1817. Applied over-twist handle with flower and leaf terminals and a moulded leaf and vine chaplet around her head. Hand painted with ochre, green, puce and black.

It measures 5 1/2" high, 5 1/4" spout to handle and 3" wide. condition is very good; just a couple of tiny frits along the rim and some paint flake losses as is typical with these early pieces.
