Description

A very unusual art deco silver ashtray with a duck egg blue guilloche enamel disc set in the centre. Smaller than average and it was originally gilded, you can see traces remain on the reverse. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1928 maker G.W. Lewis & Co. A stunning and unusual piece, perfect for storing trinkets.

It measures 3 1/8" rim to handle, 2 1/4" rim to rim and 3/4" high. It weighs 26.4g/0.93oz/0.85ozt. Condition is excellent with no damage and very light surface wear notwithstanding the loss of the gilt wash. There is a really tiny dink to the rim, I only mention as it is the only thing not perfect, and the enamel is fine all around.
