Large French C1910 18 Arm Birdcage Crystal Chandelier Fully Restored

Genuine French 18 arm Gilded Brass & Crystal Birdcage Chandelier dating from around 1910-1920.

This chandelier is dressed with approximately 180 original large hand-cut antique crystals with high lead content (34-38%, typical of this period, as apposed to 15-24% modern crystals), measuring approx. 9x6cm / 3.5x2.5in and some 8x5cm / 3x2in and giving out such a beautiful and dazzling array of coloured reflections. A large hand cut crystal ball suspends from the bottom.

The frame is solid and has a lovely patina which would fit in nicely in both period and modern homes; it has been sympathetically cleaned and restored without loosing the patina.

The chandelier has 12 large arms each with 1 bulb; 6 smaller arms with 1 bulb and 1 bulb located at the bottom centre of the birdcage; providing 19 bulbs in total.

This chandelier has been professionally rewired and restored to the highest standard using only the best components, ready for immediate installation.

Salvaged antique chandeliers rarely come with their original hanging chain and ceiling rose intact. For safety reasons we supply our chandeliers with replacement solid metal chain and top quality cast brass ceiling rose with antiqued effect, which is custom-made specially for us using an original rose as template. The chain and the ceiling rose compliment the chandelier beautifully.

This chandelier can be delivered to most places in mainland UK for £75 including packaging cost.

We welcome viewing or collection from S44 area, which is Chesterfield about 2 minutes drive off junction 29 of M1. Some of our chandeliers are being exhibited in our Antiques centre in Lincolnshire so please contact us before travelling.
