Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
It has been newly reupholstered in a golden heavy brocade fabric. This chair is more suited as decorative side or hall chairs rather than a chair for heavy use.

It has a number of splits and old mends to the veneers (see photos). Certainly more of a decorative chair and suits occasional use rather than heavy use. The frame is solid and the seat has been newly reupholstered.
