A fine quality and charming inlaid writing desk or escritoire. Made from lovely solid mahogany timber and decorated with the finest of quality inlaid designs. The inlay is of floral swags, garlands and musical scenes. The desk stands on elegant out-swept legs , supported by a uniting stretcher. The lockable (key supplied) fall front opens to reveal the original fitted interior in deep red leather , with stationary compartments and the original writing surface/blotter pad. The inside bears the maker stamp W Thornhill and Co of New Bond Street London, a very high class establishment.
