Elmgarden has dated this piece to the 17th Century.
The cupboard has four heavy panelled doors enclosing 2 shelved cupboards and 2 drawers between them

The doors have old escutcheons, iron hinges and locks, the lock on the drawer works the others do not, the 2 drawers have different handles but they do seem to be original
The cornice at the top of the cupboard is probably not as old as the rest of the cupboard but it is old and works well, the polished wood of the cupboard has a wonderful patina, only achieved by many years of loving care. The cupboard is sound but has quite a bit of old woodworm damage to the original backboards, probably it has spent its life against a wall but this is long dead and has been re treated to make sure

This piece is in very attractive condition considering its great age
The cupboard stands 71” high it is 49” wide and 24”deep
