London Fine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
This is a set of six Victorian dining chairs in English oak dating to c1890
A superior set of two carvers and four standard chairs hand crafted to a quality simply not available today.

Raised at the fore on cabriole legs with pad feet and complimented by swept rear legs, the chairs offer excellent stability from the turned side and cow horn cross stretchers. The shaped rear back splats display beautiful grain detail shining through the warm patina and rich hues of the russet brown oak.

The shaped crest rails add further interest and are complimented on the carvers by the 'shepherd's crook' arms.
The needlepoint drop-in seat pads are in good order. They would benefit from we-webbing if chosen not to be recovered completely to suit.

Superb quality and a stunning piece presented in good antique condition. Solid joints and construction. Delivered waxed & polished ready for the home.
