Kembery Antique Clocks Ltd has dated this piece to the 1800s.

The mechanism is stamped 'Thwaites' and numbered 4149 (see extra images). Thwaites are noted clockmakers who also supplied many London clockmakers. This is an early example prior to the partnership with Reed and dates to circa 1808. John Thwaites was master of the Clockmaker's Company in 1815,19 and 1820.
