An Antique Silver Pocket Watch, Sharpe of Retford

1900 - 1920
Description

An antique silver pocket watch, Sharpe of Retford.

The watch has an English ¾ plate movement which is signed Sharpe, Retford. It is working nicely and keeping good time to within two minutes or so over 24 hours. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 47mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks on both of the case backs for Birmingham 1900 with a maker’s mark for John Rotherham & Sons. The case is in very nice condition.

The watch glass has a small area of light scratching but overall very acceptable.

The white enamel dial is in lovely condition and has blued steel hands (initially set by way of the pin set mechanism), a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
