Arts and Crafts Bobbin Turned Corner Chair

Description

An antique Arts and Crafts bobbin turned corner chair dating from circa 1890. With bobbin turned uprights and cross stretchers in an ebonised finish. The original rush seat has been professionally replaced with a new rush seat in keeping with the original design of the chair. Chairs of this design were sold by Libertys from circa 1880-1900 – see page 103 of Daryl Bennett’s Book “Liberty’s Furniture 1875-1915”. This lovely example is in good condition and would make a superb statement piece.

Ebonised walnut

Solid and sturdy and new rush seat.
