The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
A pale bluish grey glaze with distinctive decoration of the clothes and apron. Blackened base with the number 5270 over-painted and the same also painted inside the head. Large strap handle with pewter fittings to the lid.

She measures 30.5cm (12") high, 14.5cm (5 3/4") wide and 28cm (11") deep. Condition is very good for age: there are a few glaze losses and fritting and a few chips to the edge of the base. A small chip to the tip of the spout and the side of the rim under the lid. No restoration and the hinge is also fine.
