The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The nicely jewelled movement is signed Maxim, Swiss.

The watch measures 49.6 mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are Swiss .935 hallmarks inside both of the back covers, the case is also stamped Maxim, Swiss made. The case has light surface marks from use and the odd mild bruise to the back but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The watch glass is in nice condition.
The enamel dial has an old repair between 1 & 2 o'clock but otherwise it is in nice condition.
The watch has its original blued steel hands.
The chain comes on a silver chain which is hallmarked for Chester 1927 each of the links on the chain have the lion passant mark. The chain is in nice condition. The chain measures 23 cm long including the T bar and clasp.
