Welsh Bookcase or Kitchen Display Cabinet C.1880.

Description

Fine example of a late 19th.c. Anglesey enclosed dresser or bookcase, known locally as a Cwpwrdd Gwydr, c.1880. Glazed top with two doors either side of removable centre panel over cupboard base with a pair of long drawers in the waist. The flared cornice, applied shield shaped door panels, bobbin turned columns and tall feet are all original vernacular details typical of the form. Original colour and condition, also retaining the original glass. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Excellent condition.
