The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1940s.
The watch has a hand-winding movement, calibre 10.
The movement is signed Longines and it has the serial number 6,833,999.

Information supplied by Longines, “the serial number identifies a wristwatch in stainless steel. It is fitted with a Longines manually wound mechanical movement, calibre 10.68Z. It was invoiced on 13 April 1945 to the company West End, which was at that time our agent for India”.

The watch measures 30mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. It is classed as a mid-size watch and would suit a man with a slimmer wrist. The case is stainless steel and overall the condition is very good for a 1940s piece with just the odd minor mark and a couple of scratches to the back where a tool has slipped in the past.
The lens is in very nice condition.
The dial has been professionally refinished to a very high standard.
A new black leather strap has been fitted.
